UKG Pro parallel payroll testing that explains every difference
A parallel run is only as good as its reconciliation. Each difference is traced to source, legacy, or UKG Pro configuration before you decide to go live.
Results reconciled three ways: source, legacy, and UKG Pro.
Each difference classified: configuration, data, legacy behavior, or expected.
Parallels load only to your UKG Pro test tenant.
Parallel testing is the most important evidence in a UKG Pro implementation or migration, and often the most painful. Teams load the same period into the test tenant, compare registers with the legacy payroll, and spend weeks working out whether each difference is a configuration issue, a data issue, or a legacy quirk.
PCLnXAI makes the parallel run repeatable. Inputs are loaded to your UKG Pro test tenant through the same pipeline that will run production, and results are reconciled three ways: source data, legacy output, and UKG Pro.
- What should have been paid
- Every line traceable
- What was paid before
- May carry its own quirks
- What the new setup pays
- Loaded by the same pipeline as production
Three-way reconciliation
- Source to UKG Pro. Did every source line load, and correctly?
- Legacy to UKG Pro. Where do results differ by employee and code?
- Source to legacy. Was the legacy result itself right, or is it the one that differs?
Classifying differences
Each difference is classified as a configuration issue in UKG Pro, a data or mapping issue in the inputs, a legacy behavior that should not be repeated, or an expected difference. That turns a list of variances into a decision list for the project team.
Some findings are about the test tenant itself: stale employee data, frozen calendars, or missing new hires. These are separated out so they do not cloud the real results.
Reusing the work at go-live
The pipeline used in parallel is the one that runs production, so the rules proven in testing are the rules that run on day one. There is no second build.

How PCLnXAI handles parallel testing
We run parallels on your UKG Pro test tenant only. Production posting is never part of a parallel run. Your team reviews each classified difference and decides.
Frequently asked questions
Do parallel runs touch our production tenant?
No. Parallel runs load only to your UKG Pro test tenant.
How many parallel cycles are needed?
It depends on your pay groups and frequencies. Weekly groups give evidence quickly; we plan the number with your project team.
Can you help if we are mid-implementation?
Yes. Parallel reconciliation can start with whichever pay groups are ready.
What about stale test tenant data?
Differences caused by the test tenant itself are identified separately so they do not hide real issues.
